AI Summary
Product Analytics shows which TikTok Shop products make money, which are losing money, and why. Every product is marked Losing money, Thin margin (net margin below 5%) or Healthy, with its GMV, sales, net profit, net margin, biggest cost driver and breakeven price. Each number is compared with the previous period, so you can see when a profitable product suddenly starts losing money. Open a product to see all its costs (product cost, samples, shipping, TikTok fees, affiliate commission, promos, ads and refunds), a chart of up to 3 metrics, a profit funnel, and a Breakeven simulator to test a new price or cost.

In this article, you will learn how to spot TikTok Shop products that are losing money, find the cost that caused it, and test a new price with the Breakeven simulator.
A product can make money one month and lose money the next. Often the cause is one cost that grew: bigger promos, more aggressive ad spend or a higher affiliate commission. Product Analytics shows you which cost it was, so you can fix it before it eats more of your profit.
Where to find it
Open Product Analytics in the left menu. Choose a period at the top right: Today, Yesterday, Last 7 days, Last 14 days, Last 30 days or Custom.
Every number is compared with the previous period of the same length. For example, Last 14 days is compared with the 14 days before it.
Losing money, thin margin or healthy
At the top, KixMon tells you how many products need attention. Use the tabs to show only one group:
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Losing money | Net profit is below zero. The product costs you more than it earns |
| Thin margin | Net margin is below 5% (net profit ÷ net revenue). One small cost increase could make it lose money |
| Healthy | Net margin is 5% or more |
The products table
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Product | Name, selling price and profit status |
| GMV | GMV for the period, its share of your total, and the change from the previous period |
| Sales | Sales for the period, its share of your total, and the change |
| Net Profit | Profit after all costs, including ads. It shows the product’s share of your total profits, or of your total losses |
| Net Margin | Net profit as a % of net revenue, and what it was in the previous period |
| Biggest Cost Driver | The cost that takes the largest share of sales, such as Promos 58%, and what it was in the previous period |
| Breakeven Price | The lowest price at which the product stops losing money. Headroom shows how far your price is above it, and need +5% shows how much you would need to raise it |

Key metrics
| Group | Metrics |
|---|---|
| Revenue & margin | Retail Price, Net Profit, Margin %, Breakeven Price, GMV and Sales |
| Costs | Product cost, Samples, Shipping, TikTok Fees, Affiliate, Promos, Ads and Refund Cost |
Each metric shows the change from the previous period. For a cost, a green ▼ means it went down, which is good for your profit, and a red ▲ means it went up.
Chart
Tick the box on up to 3 metrics at a time to plot them by day. For example, tick Ads, Net Profit and GMV to see if extra ad spend actually brought in more profit.
Find out why profit dropped
Two views on the product page show you where the money goes.
Profit funnel
The funnel starts with your Sales and takes off one cost at a time: promos, TikTok fees, shipping, affiliate commission, ads, refunds and COGS. What is left at the bottom is your Profit. The biggest drop in the funnel is your biggest problem.
Cost breakdown
This table lists every cost from biggest to smallest, with its spend and its % of sales. Each cost is marked as:
| Type | Meaning | Costs |
|---|---|---|
| You control | You can change it directly | Promos, advertising, affiliate commission, sample units |
| Fixed % | Mostly set by your product, TikTok or your carrier | Product cost, shipping, TikTok fees, refunds |
Breakeven simulator
Use the simulator to test changes before you make them. Move the sliders for Selling price, Units, Product cost, Samples, Shipping, Affiliate rate, Ads, TikTok Fees and Promos.
On the right, KixMon shows the result straight away: margin, net profit, breakeven price, headroom, status, and each cost as a % of sales. Click Reset to Today to go back to your real figures.
The simulator only shows what would happen. It does not change your prices or your data.
Frequently asked questions
Why is my product losing money?
Open the product with Details. Check the Biggest cost driver, the Cost breakdown and the Profit funnel. They show which cost takes the largest share of your sales, such as promos, ads or affiliate commission, and how it changed from the previous period.
What does Thin margin mean?
The product’s net margin is below 5%. Net margin is net profit divided by net revenue.
What is the breakeven price?
The lowest selling price at which the product stops losing money, with its current costs. Headroom shows how far your price is above it. Need +5% means you would have to raise your price by 5% to break even.
Is ad spend included per product?
Yes. Ads are one of the costs for each product, so net profit and margin already include them.
What period is the comparison against?
The previous period of the same length. For example, when you choose Last 14 days, KixMon compares it with the 14 days before.
Does the Breakeven simulator change my prices or data?
No. The simulator only shows what would happen. Click Reset to Today to go back to your real figures.
