Creator Profitability: profit per affiliate creator

Last updated:

Applies to: US TikTok Shop stores connected to KixMon · Max and Agency plans · Web app

AI Summary

Creator Profitability shows the net profit each TikTok Shop affiliate creator generates, after their commission, the ads you ran on their content, shipping, TikTok fees, sample cost, any retainer and cost of goods. Four summary cards show Creator GMV, Creator Net Profit, Average Profit Margin and the Top Creator by Profit, each compared with the previous period. The per-creator table groups columns into Revenue, Costs, Activity and Profit, and can be searched and customized. Creator Profitability currently uses standard orders; refundable samples and affiliate partner orders will be added as soon as TikTok’s API provides them at creator level. Available on the Max and Agency plans for US TikTok Shop stores.

Where to find it

Open Dashboard in the left menu, then select the Creator Profitability tab.

Creator Profitability is included on the Max and Agency plans. On other plans, the tab shows a blurred preview with an Upgrade button; upgrade to Max or Agency to unlock it.

Creator Profitability is currently available for US TikTok Shop stores in the KixMon web app. KixMon will add other regions as soon as TikTok releases the creator-level APIs for those markets.

What’s included

Creator Profitability currently counts standard orders. Two order types are not yet included at creator level:

  • Refundable samples — free units sent to creators for content
  • Affiliate partner orders — orders attributed to an agency or MCN rather than one creator

TikTok’s API reports these orders at store level, but does not yet break them down by individual creator. KixMon will add them to Creator Profitability as soon as TikTok makes creator-level data available through its API. Sample cost still appears as a column for creators you sent samples to.

How to use it

Creator Profitability shows which creators make you money after all costs. Use it to decide where to spend your time, samples and ad budget.

  • Sort any column. Click a column name to sort the table. Sort Profit from lowest to highest to see which creators lose you the most money.
  • Compare creators by profit. Profit already takes away commission, Shop Ads commission, shipping, TikTok fees, GMV Max ad spend, samples, retainers and product cost. A creator with high sales is not always the one who makes you the most money.
  • See GMV Max spend for each creator. The GMV Max Ads column shows how much GMV Max spent on each creator’s videos. Seller Center’s affiliate section does not show this. If a creator has high GMV Max spend and a negative Profit, remove their videos from your GMV Max campaign. Your budget then goes to videos that earn more.
  • Find good creators to work with again. Look for creators with a good Profit from only a few selling videos. Send them a new sample or brief.
  • Check your retainer creators. See the sales, selling videos, ad spend and Profit each retainer creator brings in, compared with the fee you pay them. Add retainers on the Expense page and they show in the Retainer column.
  • Check your samples. The Sample cost column shows how much you spent on samples for each creator, next to the orders and Profit they brought in.

Frequently asked questions

Why do some creators show fewer orders than in Seller Center?

Creator Profitability currently counts standard orders. Refundable sample orders and affiliate partner orders are shown in Seller Center but are not yet available at creator level through TikTok’s API, so a creator’s order count in KixMon can be lower than in Seller Center. KixMon will add these orders as soon as TikTok makes creator-level data available.

Why is a creator’s profit negative?

Their commission, the ads you ran on their content, samples, shipping and COGS together exceeded the revenue their orders generated. That is the number this page exists to surface.

How do I add a creator retainer?

Record it on the Expense page and assign it to that creator. It then appears in the Retainer column.

Does Platform Discount increase creator profit?

Yes. TikTok funds and reimburses it, so it is added back rather than treated as a cost.

Which plans include Creator Profitability?

Max and Agency. The Pro plan covers the Tiles and P&L views.

Which regions support Creator Profitability?

Creator Profitability is currently available for US TikTok Shop stores. KixMon will add other regions as soon as TikTok releases the creator-level APIs for those markets.

Does the mobile app show Creator Profitability?

Not yet. Creator Profitability is currently available in the KixMon web app only.
