In this article, you will learn how to add one-time and repeating expenses, how to add a creator retainer, and where your expenses show up in your TikTok Shop profit.
Where to find it
Open Expense in the left menu, under Profits. The table lists every expense you have added.
To find an expense, search by Expense Name, filter by Type, or pick a Date Range. Click Reset to clear your filters.
Add an expense
- Click New Expense at the top right.
- Choose the Type: One Time, or how often the expense repeats.
- Choose the Category: General Expense.
- Choose the Date. For a repeating expense, this is the start date.
- Enter a Name, such as “Software” or “Warehouse rent”.
- Enter the Amount.
- Click Save.
One-time or repeating
Add a cost once, and KixMon keeps counting it for you.

Add a creator retainer
A creator retainer is a fixed fee you pay an affiliate creator, on top of their commission. Add it here so KixMon can show whether that creator is really making you money.
- Click New Expense.
- Choose the Category: Creator Retainer.
- Choose the Type: One Time, or how often you pay the retainer.
- Choose the start Date.
- Type the creator’s name, then select the creator from the list.
- Enter the Amount.
- Click Save.
The retainer shows next to the creator’s name in Creator Profitability, and is included in your total expenses in the P&L.

Edit or delete an expense
Click the three dots in the expense’s row, then click Edit to change it or Delete to remove it. KixMon updates your profit for the dates it covers.

What is the difference between General Expense and Creator Retainer?
General Expense is for any business cost, such as software, rent, salaries or samples. Creator Retainer is a fixed fee you pay an affiliate creator. You pick the creator, and KixMon shows the fee against that creator in Creator Profitability.
How does KixMon handle a monthly expense?
KixMon spreads the amount evenly across each period. For example, a monthly expense is shared across the days of the month, so your daily and weekly profit stay accurate.
Can I add an expense for a past date?
Yes. Choose any start date. KixMon includes the expense in your profit from that date.
Where do my expenses show up?
In the Expense tab of the P&L, in net profit on the Dashboard Tiles, and, for creator retainers, next to the creator in Creator Profitability.
Can I edit or delete an expense?
Yes. Click the three dots in the expense’s row, then click Edit or Delete. KixMon updates your profit right away.
Can I upload expenses in bulk?
Not currently. Add each expense with New Expense. A repeating expense only needs to be added once.
